There's no denying that Southern Californians are wusses when it comes to the weather. We know we are. You don't need much to be able to bear a Southern California winter. A hoodie, a scarf, and maaaybe, some gloves. Maybe. That's really about it. Of course there are always copious pairs of Uggs to be seen, and although honestly I sometimes wish I subscribed to the Uggs mindset, I can't bring myself to wear them. This winter has proven to be chillier than normal and a pair of Uggs doesn't sound so bad right now. Maybe I can get away with hiding them in the dark corners of my closet, and hope that no one goes looking for something back there. Anyway, it's been around 40°s at night, chilly.
I actually had to buy a coat.
A COAT, PEOPLE!!!
So here's all it really takes to survive our 40-60° winters, which I understand is probably a lot warmer than what some of you other folks get.
The coat is by Me Jane, picked up at Ross. The scarf was a handmade Christmas gift from 2012. The gloves are Pugsgear, picked up at 7-Eleven. Yes, you read that right. They actually keep my hands really warm. My little trick for warm feet during winter is hiking socks. Their purpose is to keep you warm anyway, so I tend to wear these A LOT. As long as my feet are warm, I really don't need to worry about the rest, and an umbrella. Our rainy season is usually the middle to end of January, until about the end of February, but this year, it's been raining about once a week since Thanksgiving, probably? Oh, and don't forget about your lips. They need a good chapstick! I'm still using my Chapstick LipSHIELD 365 and so far, my lips aren't looking haggard.
